In PPro, CS3 and CS4 there were a number of time remapping options, including FX filters which I preferred using because of the options it offered in terms of setting up the re-mapping and the methods used to render it.

Sitting at my friend’s CS5 machine I noticed they don’t seem to be there, at least no on his install.

Has this been removed from CS5?

Are you referring to the Time Warp effect? Yes, that effect is not in Premiere Pro CS5.

Porting the whole application and all of the effects to 64-bit took a lot of work for each piece. We determined that not very many people needed for us to port Time Warp to CS5, since there are other ways to remap time.

If you want this effect added back, you can let us know with a feature request.

I see that what the end result can be accomplished.

The other way was nice in that could optionally work based on source frame rather than % of frame rate.
This made it easier to work with in many instances.

Also, you didn’t have to ripple the length of the clip unnecessarily to create an effect. I kind of liked that option. Finally you could set to simple frame mixing to see the result in near real time, but switch it to frame blending or “optical flow” one you got the timing the way you wanted it. Made it really nice to make changes quickly.

I know, I know…I’ll post it as a feature request.

    🙂
