I’ve been shooting time lapse clloudscapes with my HVX200.
It seems that if I playe the QuickTime file on it’s own after it’s imported via FCP, it plays very smoothly.

Once I export the timeline in FCP and I play it back, the time-lapse now stutters or jerks. It doesn’t play back smooth. If I go back and open the file on it’s own without being on a timeline, it plays smoothly.

So something from exporting from the timeline is doing something to lose the smoothness.

I’m using the easy setup for DVCPRO HD 720p/24

As far as I can tell, everything else plays back normally.

You will need to define jerky, smooth and stutter. Also, where are you seeing this problem? The Viewer is just a QT player window and will run anything QT can handle. The Canvas, however, is a window into your sequence and wil only display the sequence settings to the extent your machine is capable.

Timelapse, by its very nature has some glitches.

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”
