    Hi there,

You’ll have to forgive me here. I’m still very much a novice and just wondering how you go about creating a pan during time lapses in post? My thinking is that if I do this in pan/crop, I will degrade the video quality as I will have to zoom into the images somewhat in order to perform the pan without moving over the edge? Is this thinking correct? Would it be likely to degrade the quality significantly do you think?

    Thanks!

It doesn’t matter because zooming in is your only option in order to have room to pan. As long as you don’t zoom in too much it should be fine. You can always apply a Sharpen FX to the video if it looks a little blurry.

Good to know – thanks John! I’m also just about to post a quick question up on a new system I’m looking at buying as I start doing more edits – would hugely appreciate any input if you have time. Thanks.
