Time Lapse Flicker
Anyone found a work-around for this? I’ve been playing with shooting time lapse stills with my Canon 20D and importing the image sequence to create a time lapse movie. The results have been less than I hoped – partly because I have no way to see what the high def finished movie actually looks like at this time without redering a really compressed format to play back on my computer, but also because of the flicker problem. At first I thought it was the quality of the preview, then thought maybe it was in the render, but finally found similar complaints from others – the heart of the problem lies in the physical acuracy of the lense aperture with digital cameras. So, I’m doing as much as I can there (turn off auto white balance, lock everything down in manual, and I’m going to try shooting wide open as was also suggested to limit the “close down” inacuracy), but there will most likely still be some fluctuation in the image exposure which will show up big-time once spun into the video.
Do we have any plugins for vegas available that deal with deflickering? (not de-interlacing)
