Time, freeze, sequence, effect
I’m sorry, I don’t really know how best to describe this effect that I’m looking for which is why I’m struggling to to find a tutorial or forum posts, but I have found this sample video that will explain it better:

What’s the best way of recreating this effect? Or is there a tutorial that you know of?

Here time freeze technique is used with masking and duplicating the footage several times.

Every time you Mask the Position of the subject, you put a hold key frame there and duplicate it.
