  • time date stamp from metadata to show in FCP?

Posted by Rhea Gavry on March 27, 2008 at 1:53 am

I know when you capture from the JVC BD-50 deck you can time date stamp the first few frames of the video. This must be in the metadata.

I am capturing directly to a firestore HD-100GB drive and wondering if it will also give me that meta data stamp?

(I use the drive to recapture footage shot on the JVC 100UA prior to the firmware update that stopped the short clip capture so want to get the date from original tape not the firestore date of record)

Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

    Hey Rhea,
I use the DR-HD100. as long as you have the correct time and date the clips on the HD will be time and date stamped.

Thanks for the post…I know the HD time stamps according to the date it has on its internal clock, just hoping that there was a way to read the time date stamp in the metadata of the JVC recorded tape.

I guess FCP does not read JVC’s data like it does read P2 cards and xdcam cards. Too bad guess we are doomed to 10 minute clips forever until JVC works with Apple on this.
