I see some of this posted but not my exact problem. I just got the HD250 and use a Sony DSR40 for our deck and Avid for editing. Shoots fine but when I go to play it back in the deck to digitize there are time code breaks like crazy but playback in camera the timecode is fine. What gives?

Also I noticed on here JVC and FCP do not quite get along. If I’m using the Focus record drive for capturing footage instead of tape will my timecode breaks still be a problem and will importing to FCP for our news station be a problem?

Was just told from the place I bought it from that JVC doesn’t like Sony tapes and to only use Panasonic and/or JVC tapes. Great, my Sony deck doesn’t like other brands other than Sony. Looks like I’m stuck waiting for my Focus hard drive to show up.
