Time Code burn DVD from 720 24PN – how to?

In FCP it’s very easy – it’s one of the “Effects.”

Either from the Effects tab in the browser window, or from the menu bar, navigate to Effects > Video Filters > Video and then choose either the Timecode Generator or the Timecode Reader. If you have just a few clips you can apply it to each one. If you have too many clips to do that easily, then create a nested sequence (select your entire sequence, then go to Sequence > Nest Item(s)…) and add the effect to that.

I’m assuming you know how to then compress for DVD. But if not, ask.

An added note to that work flow;
If you add to each individual clip, TC will begin at 0 on each clip. If you add to a Nest, it will start the Nest at 0 and run through the whole Nest, not reseting to 0 for each clip.

You need to apply Timecode Reader and NOT Generator from Video filters gallery. Timecode reader is the same tc what is on your P2 cards, tape or source material. Timecode generator is your timeline tc which is not what you need.

No – that’s not necessarily correct, Mariusz. It depends on what he wants. If it’s for a client to determine what shots they like or don’t in a particular piece, it’s much easier to use a generator. If he needs to go back to the original footage, then a reader is more appropriate.

You could also use both.

I just said that beacuse it is same as master footage. It is much easier to confirm everything to oryginal material same as with film. Maybe there is different way, I do not argue but it would make sense to have same TC that you can compare to original footage from camera.
