time changes
I have been learning motion for the past little while. I have yet to find how to make speed changes to imported video. Is this possilbe in Motion?

By speed changes, you mean slow/fast motion or variable speed? If it’s the first thing, you just have to go to the media tab in the inspector (select the object and hit Shift-F) and change the Frame Rate setting.
For simple time remapping, you have the scrub filter (Add Filter > Time > Scrub). The frame offset parameter allows you to control a virtual playhead.
