Right now i’m running 10.3.8 on my G5 with FCP HD. I have multiple projects stored on my drives along with the raw footage stored in the appropriate scratch disk folders. My question is that when i finally upgrade to Tiger and FCP 5 what would be the best way to do this. Should I uninstall FCP that is on my system now then do a full install of FCP 5…..and by doing it this way would my current and past projects be affected? In other words I don’t want to uninstall my current FCP HD and have my projects get screwed up when i install FCP 5.

I wouldn’t want to be the ginny pig on this one……. I think I am goign to sit back for a few months and learn alot more before i attempt to upgrade the os and fcp so close together……. Ken Stone made the last upgrade pretty seemless with this little gem https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/fcp_4_upgrade_phil.html Hopefully Ken will have Phil post the next wave of chaos and how to get through it succesfully. It is still a good article and will help you with some basics of upgrading.

I’ve already reserved my copy of Tiger, which I should get around April 29th…

Since I like to live dangerously, I plan on installing it around that time….I should be posting something (good or bad) around that time…

if u don’t here from me….maybe I’ll have lost my internet connection!!!! but were on a mac, so I’m not worry.

I won’t touch my 2 other FCP editing suites yet!

    markyyy
