    Hey yall,
I am not really sure where the most effective place for this post is so I will be putting it in several places. I hope this is not taboo.
Here is my issue. I rendered a series of images from Maya as a tiff sequence and now the sequence seems to stutter on playback. I have tried importing in after effects, and also in the quicktime player. Both of these things result in stutters in playback. Does anyone have any ideas about this?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
    Tim

Just have the courtesy to go back to ALL of them and post your final solutions.

TIFF sequences do not play smoothly in any application that is designed to play movies. You can get a few dozen or a few hundred loaded into RAM but eventually the disk latency, RAM, and image processing routines will choke. You must convert the TIFF sequence to a movie of the appropriate size and codec to be played smoothly in realtime anywhere on anything.

Why do you think you need to be able to play TIFF as a sequence without converting it to a movie?

This is my standard sigfile so do not take it personally: “For crying out loud, read the freakin’ manual.”

well actually I have tried to use quicktime pro to convert the image sequence to an .mov but the stuttering still exists.
I have 2 theories. I have heard some people complain about recent quicktime updates giving them problems. So thats the first theory. The other is that there was some sort of issue coming out of maya. This would be a huge problem because I actually dont have the time to rerender all of the animation. So I am exploring using frame blending to mask the issue. Any tips?

    Thanks in advance!
