  Thunderbolt to USB 3.0 compact solution?

  I’m unable to source a compact breakout adaptor for use on the road. My ideal would be an adaptor that docks 2 x USB 3 drives to the Thunderbolt port on this MacBook Pro8,3 (17″, Late 2011).

  The dock I have on my desk in the office is great : OWC Thunderbolt 2 docking station, with a total of 12 connections. I would like to find something less bulky for use on the road, but with the dual USB 3 port capability.

  There are small single Thunderbolt-to-USB 3 adaptors available, and there are also USB 3 hubs that are quite compact (eg 3 port hubs). If I join these 2 components together, will it accomplish what I need?
