    Hello Creative Cow forums,

Just joined, so apologies in advance if this topic has already been covered extensively.

Besides Seagate’s very expensive Thunderbolt dock for their line of hard drives, I’m finding little or no other product on the market. Am I just having bad luck finding others? What have been some other vendors who have delivered on their promises of Thunderbolt tech?

With USB 3.1 on the horizon, is Thunderbolt going to be left an abandoned niche product? I’d be curious to know the community’s outlook on it.

Looking forward to reading through more the forums!

We use it all the time for things like the Promise pegasus, Blackmagic mini-monitor, GbE, 10GbE with ATTO Thunderlink, and connecting monitors. Tethering is pretty sweet.

Thunderbolt2 should be pretty interesting too.

I’ve been using the Promise Pegasus R4 for on-set editing and the Blackmagic UltraStudio express for I/O with my rMBP and am happy with these products. Especially the R4. Super fast in RAID 5 too!
