  Thumbnail & Waveform Cache query

  I was wondering if setting a user’s thumbnail & waveform caches to an xsan server would slow down FCP as opposed to saving them on the local machine when selecting to view thumbnails and clip waveforms?
  I work in a multi-suite & multi-user environment where we cut a wide range of programming (with regards to duration) and sometimes fcp seems to take along time to draw waveforms either in the viewer or on the timeline.

  At present all users have their final cut pro documents set to this path:
  xsan>pro apps>final cut pro documents>
