thumbnail refresh?
Posted by Ron Labbe on February 9, 2013 at 4:52 pmI’ve got a load of stills in the Media Bin. It takes a bit for all the thumbnails to load… if I scroll down, the thumbnails have to reload. If I scroll back up, they have to reload again. And again. How do I get the thumbnails to “stick”?? A cache problem? Thanks.

I’ve had the same problem from the get go with Vegas. I’ve asked about it on this forum, but never found a solution.

February 11, 2013 at 1:54 pmApparently the Sony forum is useless! Mine has now decided to go into “Not Responding” permanently mode after scrolling through a few “pages”. Argh.

February 11, 2013 at 4:23 pmStrange you should mention that. I have been fighting the “not responding” for the last 24 hrs. When I commented on your post I hadn’t actually connected the thumbnail prob to Vegas locking up. The issue for me apparently was the upgrade I made last week to Vegas 12 Build 486. I have re-installed an earlier Vegas 12 Build 367, and the problem went away. ( the slow thumbnail creation and the re-building of thumbnails continues, but at least it doesn’t go into “not responding” and freeze up.)
Here’s the link to early Vegas versions and builds..

February 11, 2013 at 4:37 pmThanks… I’ll try the previous build as well. Suppose I have to uninstall first? Interestingly, I loaded (current) Sony Movie Studio to see how it behaved (trial version) and I get the exact same problems!

February 12, 2013 at 7:32 amYes, you’ll have to uninstall the Version of Vegas 12 you have installed to go back to an earlier build. In this case, it’s well worth it.

February 12, 2013 at 3:30 pmYes, it’s still slow, must refresh continually (often takes several minutes), but at least it “recovers”. I see another thread popped up with the same problem! Only reason I use Sony is the incredible 3D support. Otherwise, ARGH!
