through-put problems
I’ve an usual situation where I’m running an analog BetaSP deck into a DVCam deck in order to capture some old footage. I can see it fine and capture without a hitch in iMovie–but if I try to capture with Final Cut Pro 5.0–I get no signal.
Any idea why FCP isn’t getting the video and audio? iMovie does and it’s a basic composite video with two audio channels into the DVCam deck. DVCam deck sends it via Firewire into the G5 Intel. But for some reason FCP acts like it can’t get any signal at all. It gets DVCam cassette footage fine, but not the signal passed through the DVCam deck from the Beta.
Anyone seen this before?

What EASY SETUP are you using in FCP? It should be DV/NTSC in order to see the footage.

My capture presets are on DV/NTSC. I tried switching between controllable/non-controllable device, just to see if that made any difference. Maybe there’s some kind of firmware issue with G5/Intel Macs that affects FCP but not iMovie….
