I have a scene where I need to show a drinking glass shatter on a floor. I used Thrausi to break up the pieces and shatter when it hits the floor. The only problem I have is that when the glass is falling, you can see the broken up pieces even though the glass is still intact. Is there any way to not show the brokenness until the glass hits the floor?

with a Thrausi shatter all the pieces are actually touching so as soon as you start they want to separate because of the margins built in to dynamics – you can try and set the margins to 0 but it usually doesn’t work correctly. I found it easier to turn off Self Collisions in the Dynamics tag on the shattered object then use some xpresso to detect the collision between the shattered object and what it’s going to hit and use that to turn on Self Collisions at impact.
