  • Those yellow unrenedred lines in the sequence.

I just can’t get my head round using still images for long sequences!

Right this is my problem. I get these yellow unrendered lines on each timeline for the first 50 seconds when I am using still images (tiff/approx 2MB-4MB each). 50 seconds into the timeline and all functions normally i.e red for unrendered/purple….etc.

My sequence settings are all fine and nothing changes if I alter them e.g. safe/unlimeted RT, high/low playback. Those yellow lines don’t turn to purple even when I render them.

    What can I do?

When you go to render is there a check mark next to the yellow line in the drop down menu?

I don’t understand where you mean. The check marks appear on left of ‘unlimieted RT’ and other options such as ‘Playback video quality’, depending on which ones I choose to select.

Go to top of window to sequence>render (or select render all or render only whichever you choose). When the next window appears, make sure there is a check mark next to the color you are trying to render before you select video. You can uncheck the other colors if you dont want to render all the other material at this time.

Yes I get it now. All the render ‘colour codes’ appear in window. I am on my home’s Mac (running FCP4), tommorrow I will check out my clients FCP5 settings. Should be the same. This should solve also the appalling and violent jittering I get during playback on the ‘yellow’ items.

I just wonder why my sequence has the yellow (proxy) setting for the first 50secs.
    Thnx.
On 31/11/05 around 21.00 GMT I will post the results.

The solution given by F.Nolan solved the problem. Thanks.
