Okay, I’m glad the director left today… I shut everything down last night, and upon restarting this morning I find it doesn’t open the last opened project as normal but asks me to set new project settings. When I go to open the actual project, I get the above error (subject). I’m cutting with 7.0.1 and haven’t changed any settings (unless I was sleepingwalking last night).

    What the heck?

currently on a MacBookPro, using FCP 7.0.1, ProResLT from Firewire (4 TB of incredible footage) and a simple DVI out to the monitor- things are getting simpler.

A bit of a premature panic- a restart at least got the projects to open again, though all preferences had to be redone. Okay, back to work- sorry.

Glad you figured this out. Although that does cause a bit of panic, doesn’t it? If the director was there… you might not have been so level headed.

You leave the great world of Avid errors and enter the world of FCP ones. Just when you get used to one set, you have to learn another set.
