    Hello,
I’m still using FCP 6.0.6 on a 10.6.8 Mac OS System. Yesterday I surprinsingly discovered that FCP wouldn’t open a project file which I created just a few days ago on exactly this Mac with this FCP version. When I tried to load the Autosave .fcp files – even most of those (the latest ones within 2 hours) would not load – always giving the error message after loading until 44%: “This project is unreadable or may be too new for this version of Final Cut”.

Now I tried quite a number of suggestions from forums and so on – but so far none of them worked. I also tried to download and install the Digital Rebellion Maintenance Suite to try Projekt Repair – but my OS is not supported anymore.

Can anybody help me with that somehow? I’d really appreciate your support.

I have uploaded the project file and autosave files here:

Thank you in advance and greetings from Germany, God bless

    Immanuel

have you quite FCP, and re-started?
that has worked for me in the past,
    along with trashing prefs

either way i downloaded you project, opened it in my FCP7,
and saved out a version4 XML, which you should be able to open in your FCP6
i’ve e-mailed a compressed zip back to you.

i think you’d be better off sorting the original issue on your end though

    good luck!
