I’m running into this issue when I try to open a project that was created on another computer. The project file and all source files are on an external drive. Same version of Premiere Pro CC (2017.0.1, Build 11.0.1). Same OS (Sierra 10.2.2). Similar machine specs (iMac, 32GB RAM). Exploring possibility that it might be GPU mismatch (mix of Nvidia and AMD machines).
Issue only started after upgrading. Maybe it’s a new “feature”!
    Anyone else?

Looks like it ‘might” be a user account issue.

I manage a small student lab. The original file was created by me using my user account on my computer. I was attempting to open it on another machine, under a student account. I just successfully opened the file on my computer, under the student account. Confused?… me too.

I can work around it — for now — by using the same account on all machines __ IF indeed that is the root of the problem.

Stepping back would be bit of a slog, since I have 20 machines.

I actually waited to update until after the semester ended — and after I had (or so I thought) – extensively tested the software.

    Thanks for the reply!

#5 is my issue. The workaround works – but that’s small comfort….looking forward to next update … hopefully, soon?

This has been a major issue for us at the facility I’m working at.

The workaround does not always work, and also requires the editor who originally edited the project to actually be around to open it under their user account and put the media offline….which isn’t always practical.

No, it wasn’t my idea to upgrade in the middle of a huge project. Grrr.

It appears that this particular issue has been fixed in latest update. My testing conclusions — So far, so good….

    Thank you, Adobe.
