    Hey Comooooooonity,

SO, I broke an Avid and now I need to go from os 10.2.8 to os 10.1 via software restore disks, without wiping the disks clean. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

We’re running Media Composer 10, and I can’t get OS 9 to install on the OS 10.2.8 drives for some reason, so if I revert to OS 10.1, and use the disks that came with the machine to throw Classic on it, I think it’ll work — and then upgrade back to OS 10.2.8. That sounds SOOO roundabout.

Long story short about what happened —

I got this error: https://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=388661 which seems to be somewhat common in OS 10.2. So I archived and installed and the OS is now running. However, Avid will not start because for some reason during the archive and install Classic was wiped off the drive, and I can’t get it to re-install!!!!

    Thanks everyone
