    Hi All,

I am trying to set up the editing lab at my university. All of the computers are macs and all have two dual output video cards. They all have two monitors native to the work station. I want to use one of the two empty video out ports to connect to a projector. running all of the stations through a switcher. This will allow the students to present their work to the class from their station and allow the professor to bring up any of the timelines to give instruction to the class. I have attached the projector to the first work station and the mac recognizes the display. Does anyone know how to get final cut to recognize the third display? Currently it is still only operating on the two desktop displays.

    Thanks,
    Ian

Unless the second card in the Mac is a video capture card, I don’t think it will work the way you want to. Final Cut doesn’t like two computer display cards — it only likes a single computer display card (that can have dual displays) and a video capture card like a Kona or BlackMagic card.
