Activity Forums Adobe Premiere Pro Thinking about switching from FCP

Let me start by saying I don’t want to start a huge debate. I know there’s already a forum for that.
I’ve been using FCP for 6 years now, I’ve heard good and bad about FCX. NO, I haven’t used it myself. This is a decision that would not be made for a year or so. I love FCP and hope Apple takes what’s missing and makes it work.
    However if they don’t…
I’d like to hear from editors who’ve switched recently. How easy was it to make the switch? Good, bad and ugly please.

This has been covered a lot here.

I have used FCP for 8 years.
    Bought the Adobe Prod. bundle.

Easy to adapt. Somethings are better with APP and some are not.
Adobe is listening and it will get better.

You’ll be up and running with adobe Premier quick and easy enough.

One way to find out is to download the trial version and give it a spin.

These resources should help you to get started with Premiere Pro if you know FCP.

10 years on FCP. After about 3 months on PPro, I was nearly as fast as I had been on FCP. I needed to add a LOT of hotkeys, as PPro doesn’t have many by default. But they’re in there — you just have to set them up yourself. Now I edit just as fast in both apps.

Pros and cons to each app. But I’m pleased with how PPro has performed for me thus far.
