Thin lines in Trapcode 3D-Stroke
Posted by Hans Meier on May 7, 2008 at 4:02 pmHi everyone,
is there any way to avoid those nasty “steps” when working with very thin lines (thickness around 0,5) with Trapcode 3D-Stroke.

concerning Video I get your point, but I’m working for Computer-Display Output only. So I use square pixels and no interlacing …

thank you for your help and your explanation.
One last time – here is my problem…it would look so nice without the steps. 🙁

May 7, 2008 at 10:45 pmsetting the Feather value to 100 can help.
you could also try to create 1px strokes in a precomp at double resolution, and scale it down in your main comp. maybe use subpixel positioning.as dave said, the steps will not go away, but it might get better than what you have now.

May 7, 2008 at 11:59 pmTry upping the thickness of the line, then thin it back out with the Simple Choker effect. To get a line that is thickness 0.2, start with a line of thickness 1, apply Simple Choker at 0.65, then duplicate the layer to increase the brightness.
