August 10, 2006 at 5:37 pmYou can get something similar using a “trail” emitter, but it won’t be exact. You can make one of these emitters by setting velocity to 0, increase number to a pretty high value, then draw the emitter path. Probably looks best if you use a shape image that slightly long and thin, and angle it at 45 degrees or so. You may want to use the size over life graph too.

August 10, 2006 at 7:09 pmI made some attempts at a similar effect a looong time ago (the request that time was for streaks like the ones Trapcode’s 3D Stroke makes). I never got it quite right, but you can check out the project file here. By adding some high quality motion blur, it may end up looking pretty good.

August 11, 2006 at 5:10 pmIt’s not an effect that you can do easily with particles. You’re trying to make a very smooth line with many small dots. Not the best way.

August 11, 2006 at 5:19 pmThis is good in some point…
what is missing to make PI possible to do this in a easy form?maybe this ‘thing’ could allow ways to do a LOT of other kinda of effects in PI.. of course without leaving the PI focus.

I’m the guy who’s guilty of posting that demo reel… I made those strokes based on this tutorial:https://www.creativecow.net/articles/velez_dean/glowing_stroke/index.html
