I’m trying to import 600, 1MB, .psd files, into Premiere Pro 2.0. Once I get to 182 images (182 MB’s) I get the following error.

“There is not enough memory to import the requested files(s)”

My system is a Dual Xeon 3 GHz processor with 4.0 GB of RAM, running
    Windows XP Professional.

No other programs are open and I use a program called “End it All” to close any unnecessary programs.

Is this all Premiere Pro can handle? Or, am I doing something wrong?

If you dont have the 3 GB switch installed from MS, Windows is only seeing 2 GB RAM.
Premiere typically uses 5X the size of the stills in memory plus what else Premiere has eaten up. Windows wont let it have all the RAM.
Suggest dicing your project into 150 pics each and exporting DV video for each slice and then you can dump all into one master project.
