The Transistion effect????
hi there,
i have been watching the Linkin park video for the “New Divide” song and the transisitions were mind blowing… any idea how can we achieve tht kind of effect?? i mean i know it was not done in AE,but do we have any third party plugins for these?? heres the link..

This video has quite a few transitions- can you be more specific, point to a time code for us to understand exactly which one yo are referring to?
I have seen some transitions done with Trapcode Form, most likely in AE, there’s other stuff that could be done using FreeFrm Pro, and some others using the Time effects.Tudor “Ted” Jelescu

thnx man for the reply…. the effect from 0.18 to 0.21 sec is the one i was hooked… 😀

That one can be done using FreeForm Pro. You can create a displacement map that can extrude and distort the image in 3d space towards the camera and that resembles the shape of the objects in the shot you are transitioning to. Be aware though that the reason this works as well as it does is also due to the movement in the shot the clip transitions to- mainly the transformer that rolls towards the camera.

Why do you say that?
