  • The process of HDV editing?

Hi all…sorry if this question has been asked before. I’ve tried searching the old posts and find all the info on HD a bit ovewhelming. Basically, I’ve been a SD holdout and am now needing to get into the world of HD production and editing. We plan to start shooting in HDV very soon (most likely the JVC HD100U camera) but I don’t have a clue as to how to handle editing that format. What steps do I need to take? Are there any major differences in editing HDV vs SD?

We’re going to purchase a brand new FCP system soon. Our budget will most likely not allow any extra hardware assistance like the Kona 3, etc. Therefore, what specs do I need to make sure the new system has in order to run HDV properly? What kind of monitors etc.

    Thanks for your help.
