I’m suddenly receiving this message when I open projects in Premiere CS6.0.3 on my Windows 8 laptop. I’m not sure what could have caused it to happen but once I’ve re-saved the project I’m unable to open it again and I receive this message:

This may be related to a Magic Bullet Plugin but I’m not sure how since I haven’t changed anything with either the plugins or the Premiere. Please, anyone know how can I fix this?!

I’m going to try and reinstall Colorista II because I think that may be the culprit as it’s the only third party plugin in use in any of the sequences.

I’ve uninstalled and re-installed Colorista and the problem still persists.

I’ve tried taking the same footage and putting it into a new project with the same effects applied and the issue is not reproducible with new projects. This, leads me to believe that somehow these projects have been corrupted in someway.

I tried importing individual sequences into a new project and that seems to force quit Premiere.

I’ve opened these same project files on an up to date Windows 7 system that also has Colorista II installed without receiving the error message.

Anyone seen these errors before or know how to fix the issue?

    Try de- and reactivating Premiere.

Reactivating the software did the trick. Glad it was a simple fix, thanks!

We just ran into this issue. Here’s what happened:

    1) Started project on Windows computer A.
    2) Continued to work on project on MacBook Retina w/ mercury playback.
    3) Opened project successfully on Windows computer A
    4) The preset message pops up
    5) When you try to save the project it FREEZES and stays stuck, have to CTRL+ALT+DELETE and kill process
    6) Open project on Windows computer B (with Mercury Playback Engine)
    7) Preset message pops up
    8) Project saves successfully!

So we have two issues, the first being the preset notice that pops up and the second being the non mercury playback GPU computers can’t save the project.

Once we finish the edit on computer B I’ll try the ‘reactivating’ or ‘reinitializing’ Premiere on computer A and report back! Hopefully this will help alleviate the second issue as well.
