    Hi there,

I have been importing several AVI files into my Sony Vegas Platinum 9.0 no problem then suddenly some won’t be imported and a message comes up saying “None of the Files Dropped on Sony Vegas Platinum Could Be Opened” and if I try to directly import instead of drag and drop, it says “The Number of Channels is Not Supported”. I’ve downloaded every video and audio codec I can find and finally got one to import but the rest will not. I noticed the difference between two files, one that is in and one that won’t, when I click Properties and check the differences, one of the audio codecs is Lame MP3 and the other is AC-3 CM. The one that works is Lame. I tried downloading a Lame codec as well as the AC-3 but I’m at a loss – nothing is working. I haven’t found this problem many other places online and I have no idea what to do. If it’s more than a simple process, please explain in detail as I’m not very familiar with the details.

    Thank you so much!

Vegas does not import AC3 in any form no matter what codecs you have installed (although you can render to AC3.) It is a pure license agreement thing. You have to convert AC3 audio outside of Vegas first with something like AC3 Pro.
