  The Most efficient method to convert WMV 320×240 to AVI 720 x 486

  I have some WMV clips about 49 min in length and 175MB in size I want to convert them into AVI files or any other format that Encore would accept for authoring a DVD. The problem with AVI using premiere or AFX is the amount of time it takes to export almost 3 hrs ? Is there another way to approach this task without consuming so much time and still maintain image quality?
