    hello Gentleman,

I wonder how you guys set the lowest bitrate when encoding.

For example a scene like many people singing together so

it shows like a still-image in the monitor(No big movement).

In this case the clever software like VEGAS think it has less movement or perhaps a still-image then set this scene (or this frame) for the lower bitrate.

Now I set VEGAS the lowest bitrate as 192,000(default).

Or do you suggest like 2,000,000 for the better quality for like this frame.

I think if this frame is real still-image (like an inserted photo), then 192,000 seems enough but for scene from the movie….

So what do you guys think this?

    Thank you in advance..

I don’t really play with the low and high defaults that the Sony programmers set (I only tweak the average) and I’ve never had any problems encoding files. My advice is if you see encoding problems, raise the bit rate. If you don’t, leave well enough alone. 😉
