  “The file has an unsupported compression type”

  OK, I don’t know what to do here. I have been using Premiere Pro to edit all my home videos, and besides the normal AVCHD cumbersomeness this has worked out fine. However, all the video recorded after a certain date will not import to Premiere Pro CS6; I get the error “The file has an unsupported compression type”.

  Now, I’ll admit I’ve always just copied the contents of the stream folder off of the memory card, and some forum threads on other sites suggest this might be a problem. I just don’t see how this would be a problem now. I can’t remember changing any camera settings (I make sure everything supposed to be on the same Blu-ray disc has the same settings), AVCHD 1920:1080p @ 50fps. Still a file in one folder imports just fine wile a file from another folder, recorded two days later, is not accepted.

  Since I haven’t changed recording or import modes, I don’t see why this would happen. I don’t want to convert my material, since 1) I don’t want quality loss and 2) we’re talking hundreds of gigs of material.

  This really sucks, any ideas?
