The disappearing posts
Occasionally, I arrive at this site when I am not already logged in. I see posts that I have not previously read, and, on a few occasions, I have posted answers to these posts. Naturally, before I can post an answer, I must login. After posting a reply, I click on the index link. When the index of posts displays, the items I had seen and responded to are completely gone.
Does anyone know why this happens? It looks like there are many posts that I do not see.

It might have something to do with the Hide Newbie posts option in your profile.

I must be dense. I’ve looked and not found such an option. I’ll look again another day. It would be nice to see the missing posts.

When logged in. I click my name in the upper right of the page.
Then on that page I click, Edit profile. The check option is on the edit profile page. -
I finally saw it. It looks like you need to log in to the profile, even though you are already logged in, before you see that item, or to update your profile.
