The Case of the After Effects Export Adventure – PRO 6.0.
Okay, so here I am, I’ve made my composite of my ships flying through space and one of them fires, When I play it via RAM preview it works perfectly, takes awhile but works perfectly.
Now here is where we hit the danger zone, so stay on course if you wanna find out, or leave now. So h’okay, I’m exporting it as an .AVI file, for windows right, right – NOW when I import it into Adobe Premier Pro, it lags when it plays, like it looks like Garbage. HELP ME,

Did you export uncompressed? Don’t try to play it on a hard drive — it’s too much data for a single hard drive (not RAID) to play. You should have exported to tomething like DV or Photo-JPEG if you expected your computer to play it back at full frame rate off the disk in Premiere.
Tell us what you want to do with the final file. DV tape? Web? DVD?

Well with the final file, I want to place it a timeline in Premier Pro, as it’s a shot for my film. After editing is done, I’ll export the scene (but again, this After Effects comp is for a single shot)

I agree with Steve, it sounds like a case of uncompressed files. you coould always render out both an uncompressed version and a Dv-codec version. Edit the DV version into your file, taking notes of an and out points, then when you’re happy swap in the new uncompressed fx.
