The best image format for DCP making
Posted by Nick Avaliani on March 13, 2011 at 5:00 pmhi Forum, what is the best image sequence format for DCP making? Tiffs? PNGs?
I use finalcut pro so I cannot export DPX

March 13, 2011 at 10:34 pmDCPs are based off of the deliverables of the facility requesting the DCP. Thus, if they request TIFFs, give them TIFFS.
DPX and TIFF are the standards. 3rd party apps out there (including free ones) exist for creating DPXs, look into that. Gluetools is a fantastic product.

March 14, 2011 at 1:36 amApple Color can convert QuickTime to DPX. As can Aja QT to DPX converter.
But Gluetools is a great tool to work from within FCP.———————————–
