I have a composition in 3D where I want to fold an object/flat illustrator layer.
I will do this by copying the layer and with masking different parts of the same object.

But I want the ‘back’ of the object to be one collor, the front has text on it. And with folding you will see parts of the back.

Is there a way to do this without making extra layers?
because this folding effect with extra layers behind the object, is getting distorted by moire and weird lines. So I hope there is a more simple solution.

    Thanks in advance ! krista

You’ll have to use a front and a back layer. You can parent the back layer to the front layer, rotate the back layer 180° and apply this expression to the opacity of both layers:

This will hide whichever side is facing away from the camera so you won’t get that z-buffer interference pattern.

Do a search for “Two-Sided Layer” after effects script. I think it’s free
