The After Effects Illusionist – Chad Perkins
Chapter 2 of the book has a lesson with the the depth matte effect. There is a 3d garage rpf and a movie of Pavo on a monocyle. We want Pavo to appear in the 3d garage. We place the garage layer over the Pavo layer and set the depth parameter to -250 for the depth matte effect on the garage layer. We then create a Pavo sandwich by duplicating the garage layer and dragging it below the Pavo layer. When we check the Invert box in the depth matte effect for the bottom layer Pavo should appear in the garage. Pavo does not appear in the garage, Pavo does not appear anywhere. What’s wrong?
