The 2nd GPU… it does nothing!!
Aside from my display-only GPU, I have two TitanX’s in a Cubix, connected to a Mac Tower. (resolve 12.5, 10.11, latest nvidia, cuda, etc..)
The second X does nothing at all. Testing with simple proresHQ 1080p with a single node of (heavy) noise reduction. There are no other system bottlenecks (CPU, fibre, etc.). I get about 9fps with or without the 2nd card. (Either physically added, or enabled via auto or manual resolve GPU selection.)
The only thing I can think of is that the new TitanX is flashed for OSX. So the VRAM’s don’t perfectly match due to the additional slightly larger EPROM. (System profiler reads 12887 and 12888 MB). And the Rom Revisions are also different. (The new one is “MacVidCards”).
I vaguely remember something about Resolve ignoring the memory of the 2nd card if its not the same. If this is in fact the issue, thinking about using an EFI injector to force the Roms & Memory to match.
Anyone have thoughts or info on this?

Does Resolve see both of the cards?

Ever since Mavericks or Yosemite (not sure which one) Apple built a restriction on GPU’s into there OS’s.
If the Graphics Cards are not APPLE GPU’s then the OS will only recognize one of them.
The only Dual GPU Machine they have that will see both of them is the Trash Can.What A-holes but not surprising for Apple.

Forgot to state this.
If I put an Apple GT-120 for my GUI with my GTX-980Ti Resolve only uses the GT-120 for Rendering.
At least that’s what iStatMenus says.Again I state, Apple has become a major A-Hole Company.

Resolve Studio or the free version? You didn’t state if it was the free which only uses one GPU.

Take the GT120 out for better performance.
