Sorry, I didn’t make myself entirely clear. When I bring a new clip from the bin into the timeline, instead of staying in the area where I’m working, the playhead jumps to the end of the clip I just brought in. I tried turning snapping off, but it still jumps to the end. Cheers.

You can’t. Snapping doesn’t affect it.

    All the best,

That seems weird. After you put a clip into the timeline, wouldn’t you want to make sure the transition looks right before moving on to the next clip? Oh well, thanks for the replies. Cheers

Sorry I misunderstood you. After you put a clip into the Timeline, one usually puts in the next clip. That is my #1 task anyway. One does not put a transition on every clip, so your way would not be useful but painful. If you want to preview your transition, just tape the up arrow key and then the “Play Around Current” shortcut “\”. Bingo. Then down arrow key to set up your next edit.

oh sweet! that really helps. What I’m putting together is scenes that were animated in AE, so they all have place or time changes between them and thus all the transitions. Anywho, thanks for the help. Cheers

I know this was posted a while ago but I also find this quite annoying, because I’m not always working with one track or with few cuts and there may be multiple cut points for the playhead to jump to (if I’m using the up arrow) before reaching the desired cut. If I’m laying down an especially long clip then I have to minimize view and scroll back. Would be nice to have a shortcut option like snapping to choose whether the playhead stays or jumps to end of a clip. oh well…
