  • That Vanishing Render Files issue again

OK OK .. I know that this has been discussed endlessly, but after an hour of scouring the forums _ I still don’t have a satisfactory explanation or workaround to the issue of one’s timeline losing render files. Besides much of the discussion is older and concerned FCP 6.0.1 and I am on 0.5 now.

So … I edit, render (a complicated HD music video with many video layers), go home. The next day on opening the project again – much of it is unrendered again. It’s driving me crazy – cos that’s 30 minutes of render right there before I can get going.

Running on latest Mac with ‘Nehalem’ processor. 24Gb RAM, new installation of all the software.

My guess would be you rendered to a location that is not optimized.

You tell us you’re running a Mac Pro, but what else? What’s your entire system setup including your media array.
