That tutorial with the airplane…
Posted by Kurt Muller on November 9, 2011 at 12:06 pmA while back I downloaded a tutorial about rotoscoping, and the guy had used footage of a toy airplane, (looked like a DC4) shot against a green screen. The tute showed how to draw a rotoscope spline around the fuselage.
I believe there is a Part 2 to that tute but I can’t find it.
Can anyone tell me where I can find it, please?
Thanks.

November 9, 2011 at 8:29 pmI have no idea what tutorial you’re referring to. I would have to resort to Google, like you.
However, perhaps this page will provide you with the help you need: [link] It’s got lots of great rotoscoping tips, tricks, and techniques, and links to tutorials and everything.
If the airplane was shot on Greenscreen, why rotoscope? You could just key it.
Also, don’t forget the Roto Brush.– The Great Szalam
(The ‘Great’ stands for ‘Not So Great, in fact, Extremely Humble’)No trees were harmed in the creation of this message, but several thousand electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

November 10, 2011 at 12:25 amThanks anyway, Michael. I just thought somebody might know it well and be able to point me to it. I’ll use that link you gave. Might be there.
I don’t know why the footage was shot against a green screen, if he planned to roto it anyway. Maybe it was footage he had from something else.
I would use Rotobrush. But I’m still learning, so I’m watching every tute I can find.
Thanks again.

November 13, 2011 at 10:16 pmJust an update. Turns out it was a Steve Wright tute, from Imagineer.
Thanks, all.
