Thank You & Advice!
Dear Mr. & Mrs. Lindeboom, and Mr. Wilson,
I am a longtime member and fan of Creativecow.net and Creativecow magazine.
I live in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where I have worked
in broadcast and media as a professional video editor/DVD author since 2003.I have always dabbled in print and known just enough to be dangerous;
now I am beginning a new print project.I am laying out and publishing a quarterly magazine consisting of 20 pages
(Including the front & back cover)
for a contract freelance job I hope will lead to full time employment.
I am not writing the magazine just laying out the articles.I was wondering what advice or words of encouragement you could offer me
as I endeavor to expand my print layout skills in InDesign. Thankfully I am well versed
in Photoshop and Illustrator. I have ordered Robin Williams books about fonts
and design as well as books on Indesign CS5.I know you are all very busy, and I appreciate any bit of your precious time,
and advice you can throw my way.And thanks again for the amazing website and magazine!

Hello Nick,
Thank you for the kind words. They are always appreciated.
Since you seem to have most of the basics covered, the only advice that I can think of coming out of the gate, is to have copious amounts of hot coffee handy. You will need it.
The other advice I will offer is that always build whatever you are doing around your audience. Make it their story and their focus. If you do that the distance between start-up and success will be much shorter.
