    I’m trying to put a stone texture on text and I’m having a problem…

    In order for the texture to look good, I need to use the “Frontal” projection mode, but when I move the text or the camera, the texture doesn’t stick to the text…how can I get the texture to stay on?

    Thanks,

    Christian

    You could bake the texture to your object, but you really don’t want to use frontal mapping in this case. You should use flat mapping or UVW mapping to lock the texture to the object.

    With NURBS objects, you can apply separate materials to each cap and to each bevel/fillet by typing the following abbreviations into the material tag’s “selection” box:

    C1 = Start Cap (Cap 1)

    C2 = End Cap (Cap 2)

    R1 = Start Rounding (Rounding 1)

    R2 = End Rounding (Rounding 2)

    If you are using deformers on the text, you’ll also want to give the text object a “Stick Texture” tag, which prevents the material from stretching when the object is deformed.

    I’ll give that a try…thanks!

    One correction: I should have said the stick texture tag *allows* the material to stretch when the object is deformed (otherwise the texture slips).
