Texture Mapping
Can you turn on or off a shape or blend out a shape over time? For example: a chess piece on a chess board…have it fade out over a few seconds and then fade in?

you can either use a Display Tag and check off Use Visibility and animate the visibility parameter or animate the transparency or alpha channel in your objects material
