    Hi all

I have imported an obj file and had set the preferences to vertices to fix a number of issues i was having with the model not being smooth. I have now textured the object and it appears that there is something weird going on and i dont know how to fix it.

The circular element in this image is a C4D disc, so it is reflecting correctly…but everything else is not.

    Thanks for any assistance

Im working with C4D R17 and have asked a friend to take a look with his version. He is on R15 and the problem does not occur for him when he opens my project.

Would anyone know what this could suggest?

    Thanks a lot

That’s odd. Are you using the physical renderer? If so does it also happen with the standard renderer? If you can post the file or .obj I’d be happy to take a look.

    Hi Adam

Yes, I am using just the physical renderer

Here is just the bit with the issue. As mentioned, R15 works fine with this model.

Click on the Normals Tag and then click the “Align Vertex to Face Normals” button. Should do the trick although I’m not sure why it didn’t come in correctly.

Thank you Adam. That has done the trick.

I really appreciate not just this help, but each and every time you give me advice.

    Thanks so much.
