in a video, how do you display text character by character, simulating someone typing?

August 12, 2008 at 4:07 pmI don’t care for the way the ProTitler handles this. The only other way that I have found is to key frame every stroke and adjust the timing of each to meet your needs. Note: the sync curser is not selectable but you can still add key frames. You must be careful as you add letters and keyframes as each keyframe consists of all the prior ones. So if you type OOPS I MAE A MISTAKE and want to change the one letter you have to delete all the ones after it and start over again. You also cannot use the “place position” function after you have started to type unless you also want to move that particular letter. You have to use Pan Crop instead. Also look for a typing wav file and sync the two. It is time consuming but comes out nicely. Give yourself some leeway in between letters so you can later adjust both the sound and typing to adjust the speed. Sorry the ProTitler is not very user friendly for doing this. Hope this helps.
