Text Tool text is jumping
After placing a text tool plug in over a clip and putting a dissolve transition to fade it in, it jumps.
It appears to sometimes move up a couple of scan lines, and other times it appears to get smaller.
Everything on the timeline is currently showing as RT, no renders required even though I have it set for Safe. If I add enough effects, it needs to be rendered, and then it doesnt jump. All RT quality settings are on Full or High.Ideas?

Go to the sequence menu and look and render selection and render all. Make sure the “full” option is checked under both menus. This will force render all rt effects. Your jumping problem will then go away.

Yep that got it. I would think that if it knew it couldnt do it RT, then it would display as needing render.
So, I hate to show my lack of mac knowledge, but what is the keyboard shortcut for Render All? The pull down shows it is a symbol and an R. The symbol looks like a backslash with a line to the upper right. I am using the Bella Keyboard and it doesnt have any buttons with that symbol on it. Thanks for the previous reply. -
That’s the option sign. An up arrow is shift. Option-r is render all. If you want a good key to shortcuts hit option-j to being up the button list. Then simply type a keyboard shortcut OR you can type render all and the keyboard shortcut will pop up. Very handy when you getting to learn FCP.
As far as RT goes, this title thing only happens on FCPs default text tools, if you use the boris 3d titler this won’t happen. You can also get more rt in terms of drop shadows with the Boris 3d titler. I always always always render all in all of my programs no matter if the rt is at full quality or not, it’s a good practice to get into.

Dan the key you asked about is the Option key on Mac keyboard, in Windows world, the same as ALT. You can render with Command R or Option R (selection or all) and check off to what level you want things rendered in the Sequence Render menu drop down.
