Text To Video
This may seem like a dumb question. Is there a way to add text to a video using Vegas?

There sure is.
Add a new track above the one that your video is on.
Click the Media Generators tab and then the Text button.
Click the Default Text button and drag it down to the new track.
For more help, look up text in the online help as well as the manual as there’s lots of useful information there.
